In order to stop the mass killings the United States needs to forget its superpower pride and ask for help (not try to force and bully people to help but ask) from Iran and Syria. Even if Iraq is declared a State of the United State (with all the money that's spent there you would think this is the next step) Iran and Syria's help is needed to stabilize the region. The region is on the verge of being totally out of control. This type of bloodshed can spread to the shores of america.

Tom, you are missing the point.
Syria and Iran are using Lebanon to put pressure on the US and try to be back on the international scene. However, this will never happen. The syrian/iranian tutelage that the US has given to such countries for over 30 years will never come back. The lebanese have proved it over the last 2 years. Despite killing many christian lebanese politicians and journalists, they will never give up their freedom again. at any price. For the first time in many years, different fractions of lebanese agree that they need to rely on each other, and not on any kind of support, to be able to survive and be free again.
