I couldn't agree more. That said, why is everyone so surprised?

I recalled earlier today that Teddy Kennedy was accused of doing the same thing- and worse. To this day, he has yet to deny the charges.

Kennedy was accused of conspiring with the Soviets of attempting to block Ronald Reagan's election to a second term in office. He also has a track record of associating with the IRA, for decades.

Carter, Clinton, et al, had no trouble soliciting funds from outside the country.
