A Blog For All - Comments - Keep it civil

Gravatar You'd think it wouldn't be too hard for people to look at New York and California and just sort of ask themselves if this is really what they wanted for the whole country. It would have probably been a service if Bloomberg had run I think. He's a model effete eunuch I think.

Gravatar "The Biblical Solution?"
It is the holiest week of the Christian calendar, but God forgive me, I do have some unholy thoughts as to the benefits derived from that supplement. I might have to Google that one.

Gravatar Nope. Just a multi-vitamin supplement. It's got a trademark.

Gravatar This is such petty stuff to be on this guy for. Gotcha politics. Can the guy do the job? Is he going to continue to lead New York toward financial ruin?

Gravatar gear:

He brought it on himself for engaging in the extramarital affairs. While you can debate the morality and ethics of that, he was paying for his dalliances using campaign funds, which is a criminal violation of state law.

That's nothing to sneeze at.

As for whether he will lead the state to fiscal ruin, he's gotten behind congestion pricing, which is essentially a tax on commuters entering NYC from the Bronx and from Long Island (Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk). NJ commuters wont be paying additional for the commute into Manhattan because the Port Authority already kicked up the tolls to $8. The congestion pricing tax will hit those who use the existing free bridges (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg, and Queensboro) the hardest.

He's also not looking to cut spending nearly so much as he is looking for ways to maintain spending. That's a recipe for tax hikes given the slowdown on Wall Street, which is a driving force for state revenues.
