I am missing some subtle sarcasm? Because the darn video has gone viral, and can be viewed or downloaded all over the place. So I'd say the risk of revenge is spread pretty thinly by now.
Or does LiveLeak carry a greater risk than the rest of us bloggers running the thing, since they are one of the few "professional" video sites?
So yeah, hurrah for LiveLeak for being brave, now that 100,000 blogs have made the video available.
No, the thing is that they pulled it down because of specific threats against them after being the first to host it. They have since restored the video, which is a sign that they intend to keep to the spirit of free speech and expression that underlined their hosting the video in the first place.
Insecure, indeed. Islam is fighting for its life, for it cannot survive contact with debate, questioning, and free choice.
All over the Middle East, emergency meetings are being held regarding halting the tide of Muslim "de-conversions" to Christianity or other religions. Some of these Muslim leaders claim a de-conversion rate of hundreds of Muslims per day, although it's hard to say if they're exaggerating. But they certainly feel the panic.
Muslims outraged. Muslims disrespected. Muslims offended. Too bad and so what. I am offended by their outrage... by them even being allowed to live here amongst civilized people. As my maiden aunt would have said, God rest her soul, Muhammad was just another dirty old man. His followers are ignorant in the extreme.
When will the corporate bodies and state organs accept that the individual has every right to expect to be able to make his/her own judgement on what is suitable to read, hear, or watch?
I think it's unfair to get too critical of people who are receiving death threats. That said, I'm extremely glad that they re-posted the video and stood up to those who tried to intimidate them into submission.

even with the omissions, the Muslim population will take offense. This is one group of people (moderates included) that are in TOTAL denial about their religion.
I posted on the Wilders' film, on a predominately asian blogsite called Instablogs, and the comments were very telling.
Millions and millions are quiting Islam every year; in Africa 16,000 leave Islam everyday, according to Faithfreedom.org.

what are we supposed to do everytime these things arise now every government has to follow rules "we have to investigate this " and everyoneknows where the crap comes from and then they post stuff on the news about some lame thing on TV like a movie star has cancer or a sports person has something.
