Gravatar In the future, the state will order that only soothing messages from President Rodham may be played on your government-issue iPod, and jumbotrons with video of The Pantsuit will be installed on all corners advising you when it is safe to cross the street.

Gravatar "NewsChannel 4 reported that Sen. Carl Kruger is proposing the ban in response to two recent pedestrian deaths in his district, including a 23-year-old man who was struck and killed last month while listening to his iPod on Avenue T and East 71st Street In Bergen Beach."

Lawhawk, you know who that 23 year old man was. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/...6p- 410737c.html

Sean Weber was a friend of mine. He was very close to a mutual friend of both Lawhawks and mine. Our friend sort of adopted Sean as a "little brother" several years ago and we have know sean ever since. Sean has been over my house several times. I may have been the one to give him his first beer. Sean, along with our mutual friend and Lawhawk are staples at my annual Super Bowl party. Sean was definetly missed this year and his death is an absolute tragedy.

Sean was a Kingsborough Community College student, an active member of Kingsborough College's radio station, a DJ on Metal Meltdown, a former intern of Eddie Trunk on Q-104.3 (NY) Friday Night Rocks, and just an all around fantastic person.

Sean's death struck me and my family particulary hard, as my mother was spared a similar fate only one year before. Approximately one mile from where Sean was killed, my mother was struck and nearly killed by a car. My mother is still recouperating and spent more than 6 months confined to a hospital bed.

However, all that being said, Sean was killed not because he had his MP3 player on, Sean was killed because someone got behind a wheel and thought he was a race car driver. Sean was a large guy. The impact of the vehicle threw him 100 feet, according to the NEw York Daily News. How fast must that car been traveling to throw a 225+ pound man 100 ft? The problem that Kruger needs to address is not MP3 players, it is disobying speed laws and other reckless driving acts. Stop the reckless driving and Sean would be alive and my mother would not have lost 6 months of her life.

New York State, Brooklyn and Mill Basin/Bergen Beach have much more pressing issues to address than cellphone/MP3 player/blackberry bans. Krueger and the rest of the State elected officials need to address more pressing issues and not pander to local constiuants with sugestions of unenforceable ordinances.

Shame on you Krueger for using Sean's death as a political ploy!

Gravatar A real danger is scantily-clad females in the summertime although I would never want to see that outlawed.

Gravatar There are many ipod nano movies sites out there in the market but you may be wondering which are the ones that score well in terms of usability, pricing, etc.
