This may not be played out -- the election hasn't happened yet, providing the international community (Africans and others) a small window to influence the outcome. SADC, for instance, is calling for the poll to be canceled. More generally, I'm not sure what influence the UN can be expected to have here -- Mugabe is already pretty isolated, and he doesn't seem to care. I don't agree that a "Grenada" would be a good outcome -- the potential for long term violence is just too grim.
