I missed Ahmed Yousef's op-ed in the WaPo, but the WaPo already beat the Times on this count. He's been busy! Last summer they featured an op-ed by Haniyeh himself. (Though later it was revealed that Haniyeh had some help from a "media unit."

When you find yourself criticizing the New York Times for being insufficiently pro-Israel, you've definitely lost touch with reality. You're like the Southern radicals before the Civil War who denounced any fellow Southerner as a closet abolitionist if they didn't follow the Dixie line in every tiny detail.

Much more than Fatah, Hamas represents the majority of Palestinians. It wasn't an accident that they won the last election. Consequently, though you may not like it, the U.S. and Israel are going to have to deal with them or whatever analogous group arises after their destruction. You are quite correct that Fatah is not the puppet you wish it were, but even so Fatah has already been fatally compromised by the local perception that it is a Western tool.
