Actually one of the primary reasons for the rise in maple bat usage is because of a little known insect called the Golden Ash Beatle which is destroying Ash stands in North Eastern PA the prime source for Ash bats in America.

This is definately something that MLB should be looking into but as long as they continue to prohibit the use of aluminum bats, with good reason mind you, its only going to contiue.

This "fan's" suit should be dismissed and he should be billed for the inconvenience.
