You missed Ralph Peters' previous article about Blackwater where he called them "hired thugs" and also said "The gravest problems arise from the collection of psychos, misfits, sadists and can't-make-it-back-home gunslingers employed by the “private security contractors” or PSCs. For one American tax dollar to go to these thugs is a travesty."
Seems to me that Ralph has something personal against Blackwater...perhaps he failed his training camp there....
I used to like reading his articles, now they just disgust me. Blackwater is an American success story that employs hundreds of patriotic Americans doing a dangerous job that apparently is very needed.

Syndi,
You may just have figured it out. I can see him being ticked off because Blackwater didn't have a slot open for a fatuous gassbag.
Peters is reminding me more and more of the late David Hackworth. Remember also how there at the end Hackworth was starting to fall in love with Wesley Clark. Had he lived by this time he would have been a Democrat activist.

Its rather obvious that the push to smear Blackwater has been on the liberal agenda for some time. Last year, the TV show Jericho had several episodes which showed "Black Rock" security people as hired thugs of the government.
I'm surprised that they are pushing it now, but I guess it has to take the place of the Iraq surrender motions in the US Congress and have some sort of shiny, sparkly to distract the nutroots. Instead of having them criticize the Democrats.
