Gravatar 'Haw-then O' is the South Uist pronunciation and the song was collected in South Uist. The 'r' is palatised after a slender vowel in that area.

FYI, Karen Matheson learned her Gaelic in high school. I began to learn Gaelic in 1974 and moved to Scotland 21 years ago to continue my studies and perfect my pronunciation. I am meticulous with each song and do my utmost to present it in the appropriate dialect.

Sorry to disagree and I hope that you accept the additional information in the spirit in which it is given, purely with positive intent.

Le deagh dhùrachd,
Talitha
