McCain spoke quite fondly of old Teddy. He seems to be genuinely concerned for his welfare.
Your thoughts on what it could be, were my first thoughts also. Was there a chick with him at the time of his seizures?
Alchol withdrawal symptoms are like or cause a seizure or stroke. Someone medivac him to the booze store. A quart of scotch will bring him right back.
We can only hope the old sot's liver is finally waving the white flag.

Drinking clearly had nothing to do with his seizure. It's not like he "choked on a pretzel" and hit his head. That is a clear case of substance abuse or possibly extreme retardation of mental faculties, both quite possible with your president.

Reagan had a barely functioning brain and put this country at great risk. And then he got Alzheimer's!

What planet are you living on? The only explanation for Kennedy's voting record in the Senate is some kind of severe mental degradation, probably caused by the effects of his alcoholism.
Of course George W Bush is not "all there" either. However his problem is intermittent, like some kind of bi-polar disorder. One day he is sane and cuts taxes, then he has a bad day and gives us a prescription drug benefit (giveaway). Then he becomes sane again and makes war on our enemies, then he flips out and tries to grant amnesty to alien criminals. And so it goes sometimes he is nuts - Harriet Miers and sometimes normal - John Roberts.
If Teddy succumbs to his condition, he won't require enbalming. Teddys so pickled, we can stand him up in the Capital (no statue needed).

I think it's the other way around. The alcohol is a way to soothe his conscience. He's obviously an emotional guy, and they tend to have one, whether they listen to it or not is a different matter.
I honestly believe Kennedy is guilty primarily of perjury and probably attempted rape, in the Kopechne case, and has to live with that the rest of his life, and it has influenced a lot of his votes and Senatorial work, particularly on behalf of radical feminists who would probably secretly like to see him chemically castrated, if the truth were known.
He saw his presidential prospects shot to hell after that event, and he keeps reliving the same drunken stupor that brought it on. His Senate votes, for the most part, are a way to purchase absolution. The drinking is just a way to hide from reality.
Brendan is just another face in a large crowd of enablers. At least you criticize Bush and other Republicans. He makes excuses for Kennedy's excesses. Of course, he's one of the guys that are granting Kennedy his absolution, but he's getting something out of it too.

The media reported this morning that Teddy ordered out for seafood last nite for dinner. Wow! Will I too be able to do that under Universal Health care if the hospital food is subpar by my standards?

Apparently the type tumor he has kills 50% of those have it within one year and hardly any live past 3 years. Apparently the plan is to treat it with meds and radiation therapy.
