I have some friends that allow their dog to lick the plates as they sit racked up in the dishwasher. He loves it and it keeps him out of trouble.

That looks remarkably like our house. I don't ever recall seeing one of the dogs in the dishwasher, but the cats get up in it all the time. The dogs love the toilet bowls too for some reason. Animals are just weird.
