I don't know how old you are, but if you're between 38 - 50, you have to rent the series "Freaks and Geeks." It lasted only one season, but it's wonderfully clever and captures the late 70s very early 80s high school scene perfectly.

I hate to even admit this. I do a great impression of Carole Burnette doing her impression of Norma Desmond. The whole wandering eye thing. I think that was the moment I knew I was a big ol pouf.
