On a purely non-charitable event level, I recently became one of Nathan Fillion's (the actor who played the Captain of The Serenity) "friends" on Myspace. Yes, I am a geek. He just started working last week on Tim Minear's ("Angel") new TV show, "Drive."

Hi, Lee.
Stumbled upon this by accident, but I wanted to thank you for the post. I'm with the AZ Browncoats, a regular attendee of the singalongs, and I'm helping to organize the Tucson Can't Stop the Serenity screening. We recently confirmed Saturday, June 23 with the Loft, and this year a portion of the proceeds raised will go to the Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona. We're keeping everyone up to date via arizonabrowncoats.com, in the News forum.
Last year's event sold out, so we're working very hard to top it this year. Hope to see you there.

Great post. I support any advocacy campaign that aims to promote women's rights. I live in a country that has a patriarchal tradition so women have faced a lot of unfair restrictions. Women should be given opportunities to shine.
