Sullivan being somewhat of a contrarian to some mainstream conservatives is nothing new.
True. But I've never seen him relish being a hateful rumor-monger quite like he has since Palin was nominated. It's like all of a sudden he has no concern whatsoever for the truth. His mission for the past week has been to regurgitate all the sordid, unsubstantiated rumors about Sarah Palin and her family and even to start a few new ones of his own.
Just about every day, Sullivan denounces Karl Rove for engaging in this kind of crap. Now, he's doing it himself, and has proven more vile and relentless than ol' "Turd Blossom" ever dreamed.
