Gravatar Nope -- I've had IE7 since it went Beta and don't have an BSOD -- and I'm also on a Dell. I find I start having issues when I need a registry clean up. I tend to download and "try" games and we all know they don't uninstall clean. I use CCleaner ... simple and free.

Gravatar I'm glad you've decided to move away from IE. But why does everyone try Firefox and never Opera? :

Gravatar I have used Opera and IE7 in the past, and I just like everything about Firefox. Unless something crazy-good comes along, I will be sticking with Firefox for a long time to come. You won't be disappointed.

Gravatar IE SUCKS! Bout time you moved to Mozilla, what took you so long?

Gravatar BTW, you coming to the great Rocket City and B'ham Bloggers Meet Up?

Gravatar I was using Opera about five years ago, and then I went for years without home Internet access, so I was stuck with whatever browser the "company" decided to let us use. That turned out to be IE, and I HATED it after using Opera. Once we got home Internet access again, I started out with Opera, which I loved. Then my husband got me hooked on Firefox. I haven't looked back since.

Gravatar Welcome to Firefox. I really think you'll like it.

Gravatar Firefox has my web viewer of choice for some time, but I always keep IE around in case I need it to do something with some Microsoft propietary software on a website. So when IE7 came out, I upgraded. I was happy that they were using tabs, so I tried opening a new tab. IE closes. I re-open and try again. IE closes. I give up on that and just go to some flash game site that I need IE for. It closes.

I was going to downgrade by re-installing the IE on my system disk, but apparently I got a patch that fixed the problem. Either way, I somehow now manage to use IE even less than before. Basically, it's there to navigate ALISON and that's it.

Gravatar Dan,

Yeah, I've noticed the ALISON thing, too. Firefox doesn't like it much, unfortunately. I'm thinking now that my problems with IE stemmed from some add-on that had worked before, but wasn't compatible with IE7. Problem is...there are SO many add-ons that it's hard to figure out which one (if any) is the culprit.
