Gravatar I love that this picture is totally, obviously, from your eye-level...

Gravatar My grandmother's kitchen was very tiny and had the same colour as your door. It had a door opening into 2 halfs leeding to the front garden; a big wood stove for cooking took up all the space at the other end. Arriving there (as a child - she died when I was 10 years old) in winter time after a 3/4 hour walk from the train station was simply bliss. The memory of warmth, smell and her open arms for a great hug came back to me when I saw this photo. Thank you. By the way it's a beautiful door.

Gravatar Another great picture! That remnds me, I probably ought to repaint our doors this year which, by the way, are also red.

Gravatar A burst of color against the grey makes me think of Pleasantville. There's so much beauty in your city!

Gravatar Exactly the shade of red most likely to make me fall down as someone opened the door (weird car accident effect, bright colors especially in motion unbalance me.) I'd have to go up those stairs with my eyes closed, and try not to look at it as I passed it by on the street.

Weird sometimes how much a past experience can affect a totally unrelated future one.
