It wasn't "trickle down" economics that was our downfall. Income to our treasury increased exponentially with Reagan's tax cuts. It was the continued unbridled spending by congress that ran up the deficit.
BTW--how's that "trickle up" poverty being practiced by Obama working out fer ya?
As far as the current mess we're in, thank your buddy Barney Frank by forcing Fannie Mae to lend to people who couldn't pay it back. That, coupled with the slowdown caused by skyrocketing oil prices, thanks to the "no drill, no way" policies instituted by your dem friends in congress and the envirowhackos really sealed the deal.
As far as funding the Mujahadeen, Russia's failure in Afghanistan was one of the things that brought Communism to its knees in the Soviet Union. I'd say that was all in all a pretty decent outcome.
You, Jonathan, did not live through those years. I did. You are a victim of revisionist history.

What is it you you guys and Reagan? You speak of him like he was elevated to Saint Ronald or something.
Don't forget, it was Reagan's "trickle-down" theory that helped land us in this economic mess to begin with, along with him funding groups like the mujaheddin in Afghanistan...and we all know how that deal turned out.
Reagan = most overrated president in U.S. history
