haha, i am not a warranty girl either EXCEPT on laptops. My last laptop crashed ONE week before the warranty expired. Check. Chris has had more problems with his, but warranty? Check. But ONLY do them for computers 
I buy the extended warranty sometimes. I had to use it on my laptop a few years ago. It crashed and I couldn't get it to work at all. Best Buy shipped it to their repair shop and it came back with a brand new hard drive good as new. I think it was worth it. We have the warranty on our tv, too, but we haven't had to use it thankfully.
I'm not the biggest fan of the warranty either but I think that expensive electronics warran them (pun intended..ha)!!
