MAYPOPS!! My little grandmotherClara, my maternal grandmother who meant so much to my life, said she used to get in trouble by stopping to look for and eat maypops when she had been sent to the pasture to drive the cows home! We have some passion flower vines growing next to our grassy 'bunny field' [where our Bunny FooFoo Family likes to hide and i don't blame them !] and dhPat has been brave enough to pluck the maypop and wash it off and eat it....he said he didn't know whether there was a 'ripe time' for it or not, but it didn't have much taste when he ate his. He said it just tasted 'green'. Of course, he loves tart green apples and anything 'raw' that is edible, like raw asparagus and raw green beans and he's even eaten a raw okra pod before...so I can't trust him when he says something is 'good'. 'Good' is definitely a relative term at our house.

Leslie,

I think we called your yummy cake "Robert Redford Cake" or "Better Than Sex Cake". Sounds like the perfect summertime cake for a chocolate lover like me.

Passiflora.. When Myles was a baby and soooo much to handle.. slept only 4 hours a night.. I used to put passiflora tincture in his orange juice to help calm him down to sleep.

Wish I had some now for me. I'm sleeping fine, so is Janney, but I've got a twitch in my eye from fatigue. I've had it since Christmas. I wonder when it will go...

My neighbor just brought me a passion flower plant as a thank you for helping his wife get to the sykehus (hospital). I don't know if it will get the maypop fruit, but how cool to see you have a picture of my new plant! Love, Kris
