Gifted Hands is a remarkable book. I read it the first time many years ago. After re-reading it a little later, I gave it to a social worker who deals with troubled teens.
She was not a Christian so I'm hoping she'd recommend the book even with his faith being so important to his life.
I was quite surprised that the TV version which came out a few months ago stayed very close to the book. Well, as much as one can in two hours.

Gifted Hands came in the mail today! I can't wait to read it. Maybe it would be a good book club read?!?
