Am I missing maybe some subtle nuance, but doesn't the fact that Israel can make discriminatory laws based on a citizen's ethnicity neatly undercut any claims to it being a Democracy?
Isn't that the long and the short of it?
And BTW if the Jews and the Arabs are not the same "race" from whence the claim of Jewish indigenousity to the area?

Has anyone here failed to note the irony that there Israel allows the existence of an Arab rights organization? In which of the surrounding Arab countries would a Jewish rights organization even be allowed to exist? To explore issues of racism in the area, I suggest you view the virulently anti-Semetic text and public comments anywhere from Egypt to Saudi Arabia or Iran (which, I believe, have never been occupied by Israel.) The heading of your own blog, of course, betrays your racism with its not-so-veiled reference to the oldest lie in the world -- that Jews seek to dominate the world.
