Jews sans frontieres

As usual, one of he main points was missed. The only thing that could make a 16 year old Palesinian become a suicide bomber is an adult suicide bomber who is engaging in child abuse. His handler is SICK (stop inciting children to kill).

That's an unbelievable comment, hardly worth replying to. There are many things - seeing relatives being murdered, the draining of any hope for the future, the usual nationalist claptrap about sacrificing for the motherland - that impels kids to kill and die. But if linguist is interested in stopping inciting kids to murder he could do worse than get involved in New Profile, whose mission is to demilitarise Israeli society. I wait with bated breath.

David

The bomber was 21, not 16.

Gravatar If you are interested in stopping violence, in this case 'Palestinian terrorism', then do something about its cause, Israeli War Crimes -

- otherwise, shut up and keep doing what you are doing, blaming the victims and putting both innocent Israelis and innocent Palestinians in harms way -

- what do you call a supporter of 'Palestinian terrorism' ?

Easy, an Israeli or American Policitician -
- neither of whom give a shit about the welfare of Israelis or Palestinians, otherwise they would have stopped their racist war crimes against innocent defenceless Palestinians (and by extension, innocent defenceless Israeli civilians) years ago!

Gravatar People are mistaking the intifada for the French Revolution, when in reality the liberty, egalite and fraternity offered is-- just for Moslems. Don't ask me, ask the imams

Gravatar Whereas Zionism offers liberty, egalite and fraternity for people of all creeds and cultures. Just ask Rabbi Kook.

Gravatar FromDebkafile-- the guy was 16 not 21

Hizballah’s 1800 Forward Command’s mission was set up to design “quality” terror attacks against Israel. DEBKAfile’s exclusive counter-terror sources reveal: The Tel Aviv attack was originally planned for Saturday or Sunday, April 15-16, to coincide with the finale of the three-day Tehran conference in support of the Palestinian cause. The last pieces were put in place at a four-way meeting last week in the Iranian capital between the Damascus-based Jihad Islami chief Ramadan Shalah, the Jihad Islami Gaza commander Mohammad al Hindi, the Hizballah second-in-command Sheik Ali Qassem and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards chief of the al Quds Brigades and Middle East terror networks, General Kasim Suleimani.

The bombing attack at the old Tel Aviv bus terminal Monday was the first suicide strike against Israel to be planned outside Palestinian territory. While from last week, Israeli security forces had more than 70 terror threats in hand, they had no advance intelligence of this one. Hours later, Israeli interrogators were still groping in the dark for the full shape of the conspiracy.

Israel’s counter-intelligence services had never heard name of the Jihad Islami suicide bomber, Sami Salim Mohammed Hammed, 16, from Tubas, although they were familiar with the network which ran him. They assume he was kept out of sight by Hizballah agents, who went to the West Bank to choose and prepare him for the mission, well away from Israel’s ears and eyes in the Palestinian territory. Hammed’s departure from his home last Tuesday or Wednesday, April 12-13, was therefore unnoticed.

Five hours after the blast in Tel Aviv, Israel forces surrounded Tubas, where they assume he was trained, and carried out arrests. Israeli investigations soon uncovered the fact that the al Aqsa Suicide Brigades of Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah had pre-knowledge - if not more - of the Tel Aviv attack. They keep cells in touch with Hizballah agents. For this attack, they are believed to have been asked to aid in the transportation of the bomber to a point close to his Tel Aviv target, or possibly all the way there.

Gravatar debkafile? Riiiiiiiiiiight. I'll stick with the British papers I've read, as well as al-Jazeera.

Gravatar I'm tremendously impressed with Hamas refusing to condemn the bombing--given their track record it would have been hypocritical to do so. This is a trap set by Israel, since by their reasoning if Hamas condemned the bombing then they are obligated to have stopped it, which makes them just as culpable as Islamic Jihad. Just look at what such condemnations did for Arafat! Of course Israel places collective responsibility anyway, whether Hamas condemns or supports the bombing--so at least they gain credibility among their supporters by refusing to jump through the Israeli hoop on command, like Fatah.

Credibility with the Israeli government as well, if truth be told. The Israelis only respect strength, not weakness. Witness the radio report that they're offering to exchange imprisoned Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti for imprisoned Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard. My suggestion would be that they're floating the idea because they're desperate to encourage an alternative to Hamas by releasing Barghouti, who hasn't been tainted like the Old Men of Fatah. Pollard's release could simply be the treacle flavoring that makes this "medicine" pallatable to the Israeli public, who don't understand hypocritical Zionist realpolitik. Or perhaps I've just grown cynical.

Gravatar Hamas/Palestine Government condemning suicide bombing ?

Whatever next -

- the Israeli government condemning its own war crimes of illegal occupation and its decades old policy of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine (WB & G) ?

- or maybe the US and UK governments can join in the farce by condemning their own illegal attack and invasion of Iraq ?

I suppose blaming the victims of western war crimes for resisting ie terrorism, is one way to avoid holding those responsible for ALL the crimes in Palestine/Israel and in Iraq to account

Gravatar if you want children to stop killing, stop killing children, linguist. (Which one is SICKER?)

great site.

Gravatar hmm..... have you stopped moderating your comments, mark?

Gravatar These last comments remind me of the title of a George A. Romero film - "The Crazies."

Gravatar Hulkagaard - I did but look what crawled out of the woodwork.

Gravatar Aha - my hits are way up. Info Clearing House linked this post. I thought they had more sophistication than that.

Gravatar Almost unique in providing the "other side" of the argumant, keep it up.

Gravatar Will this insanity ever stop? There is just one G-d, albeit, with many names, and I imagine tha G-d is not happy with this on-going madness. To continue this conflict is preposterous and should come to an end. The whole world should give peace a chance and stop this wholesale slaughter of innocents. Why not a 12 month moratorium on killing? Who knows, it may prove to be a welcome solution to a deplorable situation. Shalom, Mar

Gravatar stop the occupation and the genocide of palestinians ... stop the WALL ...
let the palestinians live like humans .. right of return that every jew seems to claim is the right of every palestinian ... IDF is commiting state sponsered terrorism and they cry foul every time a palestinian hits back .. so many palestinian children have been murdered over the years that the west hardly hears about .. am glad to see that more and more people are waking up and are speaking out .. many just still blind or afraid to voice their honest opinion against zionism and the war crimes of IsraHell ... the anti semetic card comes into play every time .. frankly am sick and tired of it .. LONG LIVE PALESTINE

Gravatar it was bad that civilians were killed.THey shudn't retaliated for the murder of 21 palestinians between 7~9th April.Israeli govt can kill but Palestinians shudn't retaliate.Similarly,Israel can keep the nuclear weapons but Iran can't have the simple nuclear energy under IAEA safeguards.Muslims dont understand the double standards of US or UN.So dont worry and keep it up!!

Gravatar Least we forget

04/18/06 "ICH" -- -- In the last two and a half weeks (since the previous suicide bombing) Israeli forces have killed at least 26 Palestinians -- at least 5 of them children -- and injured 161 Palestinian men, women and children. A college student lost her right eye today after being shot by an Israeli sniper last week.

There have been 369 raids by Israeli forces, mostly into the West Bank. Gaza has undergone sustained shelling by Israeli forces and continued closures, resulting in increasing lack of food and medical supplies. According to UN reports, between March 30 and April 12th, Israeli forces launched 2300 artillery and tank shells and 34 missiles into Gaza.

Since the current Palestinian uprising against Israeli military occupation and confiscation of Palestinian land began in fall 2000, approximately 3,863 Palestinians and 1,084 Israelis and have been killed. Among these have been approximately 720 Palestinian children and 124 Israeli children.

Today, in separate actions, several Palestinian youths were shot, one in the neck. Israeli forces are continuing their ongoing invasions of Nablus and other West Bank cities.

Today is Palestinian Prisoners Day. 9,400 Palestinian men, women, and children are in prison. According to numerous human rights reports, Palestinian prisoners are frequently tortured. Defense for Children International reports that 4,000 Palestinian children have been arrested in the past five years, 400 of them currently in prison, including a fifteen-year-old girl, who has been in prison for over a year after being shot in the stomach by Israeli soldiers. DCI reports that the arrests are increasing.

Additional Information from Defense for Children International:

According to DCI: "The process of arrest and detention of Palestinian children is a process of systematic abuse and mistreatment which flouts international legal standards and denies the basic human rights of detainees first as children and secondly as prisoners...[children are] handcuffed and blindfolded, humiliated and threatened and often beaten and kicked from the moment they are arrested up to and often throughout their interrogation and detention. They are deprived of sleep, food and access to the bathroom until so-called confessions are coerced out of them..."

At 5.30pm on Monday 10 April 2006, at least six artillery shells fired by the Israeli military fell on the family house of Mohammed Rabe'eya Ghaban in Beit Lahiya, in the north of the Gaza Strip. Shrapnel from the shells pierced the skull of Mohammed's eight-year old daughter Hadeel, killing her instantly. The shelling also resulted in the injury of eight other family members, including Hadeel's brothers and sisters:

Rawan Ghaban 1 and a half years old
Rana Ghaban 3 years old
Munir Ghaban 4 years old
Amneh Ghaban 9 years old
Ghassan Ghaban 11 years old
Bassam Ghaban 15 years old
Tahrir Ghaban 17 years old

The children's mother, 35-year old Sofia, was the eighth family member wounded in the attack.

Several neighbours were also injured including:

Jaqueline Mo'ein Maarouf 11 years old
Mariam Maher Al-'Assi 15 years old

Gravatar The great Mohammed Omar of Rafah City (or what's left of it) is managing to keep up a splendid series of photo-journalist reports of the sea, air and land bombardments of the Palestinian-filled Warsaw ghetto of Gaza, at the moment -

- oh yes, Mohammed is also reporting on the effects on the inhabitants, of this specially sealed-off ghetto he calls home, being put on a special diet (snicker, snicker!) by their guards and jailers, the Israeli government

Gravatar Don't forget that it's a "race to the bottom" for many Israelis as well. Witness their new "Pensioners Party," established to restore the safety net for the elderly. Many young people voted for this party out of sympathy because they had grown cynical about the other parties, and indeed Israel's electoral system in general and didn't want to cast a "wasted vote." Here's a good joke:

A Brit, a Frenchman and an Israeli are viewing a painting of Adam and Eve frolicking in the Garden of Eden. The Brit says, "They look so calm. They must be British." The Frenchman says, "Nonsense. They're naked, and so beautiful. Clearly, these are French people. The Israeli disagrees, "I don't think so. They have no clothes, no shelter, they have only an apple to eat, and they're being told this is paradise. They are Israelis."

re roger waters gig

Gravatar I think it's very good news, re; roger waters. now instead of shooting and crying, Israelis can go to the waters show and cry about walling.
