I think those fighting Israel know that they are not serious about any negotiated peace with their Arab neighbors. Israel with eventually have to be taken on properly, until that time it's just a game they play. One day the true owners of the land will get hold of the necessary equipment to teach Israel a big lesson, either they will get it or a traditional enemy of Israel will come to their aid. Then Israel will go away. I hope Jews realise this and leave Israel, going back to their homelands, which is not where they are presently.
As a rabid anti-semite myself of course, according to ADL definition, I should not want six million Jews leaving Israel and returning to their countries of origin. I should be happy that they all leave my country and are contained in one place. But I'm not, I want them to disperse and come back. they are living a vicious lie in a country they stole, and only keep through horrific violence and America's big stick.
It's almost as if my big problem is the state of Israel itself, not the religion of it's inhabitants.

That wosn't a mere spelling mistake. It was my repressed Yiddishe spirit committing an act of non-violent resistance inside my comely English literacy.

suraci,
"those fighting Israel" know it very well. AP is mostly read by those who do not fight Israel.

The greatest danger to Israel is something that their nuclear weapons are powerless against--"one person/one vote." The Palestinians are increasingly seeing their struggle as no longer one of nationalism, but of civil rights. This would actually address some fears of Israelis, such as an independent Palestinian State would merely become a "Hamastan" like Gaza. But that didn't happen in South Africa, so why should it happen in Israel? Perhaps they'll have a committee design a new flag as well.

AP editors are unethical pieces of shit. When they can't get away with lying their asses off, they use some form of creative shape-shifting to push the U.S. or Israeli point of view. AP is pretty much the global corporatists' PR machine—covering their every public action. Mainstream Mafia.

"Perhaps they'll have a committee design a new flag as well."
I hope not, the new South Africa flag reminds me of a pair of colourful (not coloured of course) Y-fronts.
"AP editors are unethical pieces of shit."
How about Jewish Chronicle editors and commentators? Here's Alex Brummer (he's the Finance Editor of the UK's Daily Mail- is that AP?), the Jewish Chronicle's media commentator on Norman Finkelstein:
[Norman] Finkelstein has described American Jews as “parasites” and calls Holocaust survivors “frauds and hucksters” who have exploited the Shoah for their own gains.
And this in the same article:
What is harder to justify is Hari’s use of discredited figures like the historian Ilan Pappe and the Holocaust revisionist Norman Finkelstein to justify the positions he takes. Pappe, as Jacobson notes, has been questioned at every turn by fellow historians. Finkelstein’s views have been tested in the High Court in London and found wanting.
He's making out that Finkelstein, the son of two holocaust survivors, is a holocaust denier and he's trying to have his readers confuse him, with the reference to the High Court, with David Irving.
This guy Brummer has a good bit of form for this sort of thing, but this is the worst example.

That IS pretty bad, Mark. I just read the whole thing, and got a kick out of the self-slapping irony that comes in the final graf:
"In this debate some credit must go to the Independent. It not only allowed Hari to embarrass himself in public ..."
What a hoot.

This method is common to many zionists. You will have seen, for example, how Finkelstein wiped Dershowitz out on Democracy Now. All the zionist message boards have Dershowitz down as the champ in that debate.
The problem for them is that the case against Israel is now in the public domain as never before and most people feel that there is at least something not quite right about Israel. Israel has blown all its holocaust credits, they've used the antisemitism slur so much they now pretend that they never use it so they do code instead as in "why do you single out the only Jewish state?"
I think the only things hindering the development of a mass campaign against Israel are the demoralisation caused by the democratic deficit where people see popular support for this or that cause being completely ignored by elected governments and the fact that there is now undoubtedly some manifestation of antisemitism in the anti-zionist movement. I think that is deterring some people from getting involved. People who don't fall for the smear still recognise and despise the real thing when it rears its head. I know myself that arguing against it is tiring and a distraction.

Mark, what do you think? If there were TWO "Jewish states" like Israel would they ever rest until they'd gone to war against each other? Great, then you'd have two little blue tins with voracious appetites!
But the propaganda would be fantastic. "Those people don't want peace!" "They want to drive us into the sea." "The only thing those people understand is force."

Montag - I sometimes think about that when zionists say that there is only one Jewish state. If it's such a good idea why aren't there two or more even? Some zionists justify Israel by saying that there has been a continuous Jewish presence in Palestine for 2,000 years but that's true of Rome and the Caucasus and many places besides so why not a Jewish state wherever there have been Jews for 2 millennia?
I don't think there'd be war between them, more an armed broiges where lots of people get killed.

More probably a Cold War in which they'd both go blind watching each other, to quote a bad joke.
