This might be the first denouncement of Israel's racism from prominent members of a government it has official relations with (notwithstanding that French guy who called it a shitty little country).

Still, ZA and Israel are cooperating in industry and business (don't forget the diamonds!), and the ambassador to Israel gave this sterling speech with the requisite wish for both Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to ZA politics if the ministers who signed this push for cutting all ties with Israel.

Did Israel just celebrate sixty years? I must have missed it. The celebration of such a wonderful thing, apparently, as the creation of the glorious state of Israel, a "light unto the world" so loved by America and Britain, and yet it was a quiet, hushed almost self consciously embarrassed affair.

No world rejoicing then....
