The social workers sound like they know what they're doing. I'm thinking your mom would prefer assisted care, if for no other reason than to not have to fetch any more ginger ale.
I'm guessing that this was a particularly poignant Mother's day for you, so I hope you had a happy one.

Yeah, if poignant means "sucks" I guess so. Dang! Although if'n yer Ma feels t'go to the assisted place, that would be a "breather" fer ya, wouldn't it? Without actually knowing yer dad, though, I can't say whether his comment was about the money or the slow realization of reality sinking in. Hard, too, I would guess.
I mean, all their lives they paid into some form of insurance or other and these past few years the attitude of most insurance companies seems t'be "screw'em" and refuse claims as much as possible. And the government isn't any help t'speak of, and I reckon that might have something t'do with the fact that big businesses can buy the government and control whatever they want (thanx so very f***ing much, ronald reagan!) and it seems I'm "going off" on the gov't again....
Yer dad may just be arrivving to that same thought, though, and it may not have as much t'do with money...

I'm not sure but I think ramen noodles are Japanese, not Chinese.

Loved the little cat. And glad you had a good MOther's day. It is so hard to watch your parents (or your MIL) go downhill and become their care taker. Life is cruel to us sometimes but I guess it makes us stronger. At least I have to try to find some silver lining in these trials. My heart goes out to you.
