I like that your mom is getting some rest now. I do not like that your father might have left for the last time and did not know it.

I'm so sorry for what your family is going through.
We asked the same question you did, when my late wife Barbara was diagnosed with brain cancer. We came to the conclusion that there is no answer. At least one that makes any sense that is.
The only "words of wisdom" I can come up with, is that life goes on, so make the most of it while you still have a life to live.
I'd been fearing that about yuor dad, ever since last Friday's post. Is there any chance he might regain his health?
I sense that your mom s going though an enormous adjustment. If so, the ability to stay at home might be an important silver lining in this cloud.
Now about the pics: that deer probably didn't cross the road at the dear crossing sign, and that's why that driver hit him. Chalk it up to the deficiency in our school systems, who couldn't care less about whether individual bucks can read or not.
I envision protests at your city hall, with numerous deer chanting "Hey! We're here! We're Deer! Get Used to it."
Shopping carts, as you know, are even worse about crossing the street at the shopping cart crossing signs.
dale-i think lately, he's too out of it to really care...he even fell asleep while they were in the dr's ofc talking to him. and, i'm feeling okay, just, well, useless?

x-no, i doubt that drs will let him come home with mom being the only one there to take care of him, i'd like to see her in an assisted living place, cuz she needs to be around other women!! she'd love that! she's outgoing, likje me & tiff!

Ah yes, the worry of having aging parents. I am right there with you. Luckily my mother is healthy though (knock on wood).

Sorry to hear about your dad....88 huh? I hear it everyday how one person will be just fine and then something changes in their daily life [maybe your mom's illness?] and they give up or go downhill.....it's sad..and strange.
I'm glad to hear that your mom is still in great spirits. Hopefully that will rub off on your dad.

Life is full of so many surprises. Many of them aren't pleasant ones. I'm hoping for the best for you and your parents. You really are a strong person. Good for you.

So sorry to hear about what you and your family are having to deal with. At least in a nursing home he will get the care he needs. It's hard to help someone that doesn't even help themselves. I understand your mom's relief but I'm sure it's a strange mix of feelings for her right now. I hope and pray things get better for y'all.

When the first words were that yer dad was in the hospital, I thought that maybe it was his truck y'had pictured there....
Of all the things us humans are good at it is the ability to make sense of chaos. Here, though, when describing either life or death or the troubles between the two, I would guess that the answer is elusive to say the least.
Hang on t'whatever sense of humor y'got, cause, baby, sometimes it all seems like a crap shoot with absolutely no guarantees.
Well, except fer the obvious. If we become alive, we will become dead.
