cathy, yeah, it's absolutely amazing that there ARE happy endings for some of these!
So where is the rabbit? just kidding, when I grew up in Houston, there was a horse ranch behind our street (which would be thought of as suburban) and a 5 acre farm on the corner. that was strange.
whitemist--i know houston was neat when i was there on vacation in 1980, can't even imagine what it's like now!!

h...yes, my treatment starts monday at 2pm! the iv runs for an hour, then i hafta stay there for another hour to make sure i dont have bad side effects (i.e. die), the bus is picking me up at 5, & then i'll be home! & my physical therapist is gonna call me that nite, & bro is gonna call me that nite, & probly joe & tom will call, just to mk sure i'm ok! people are great!
It's always good when bad stories about kids end up well. I spent my career seeing the things that happen to kids in the real world, didn't like it.

(1) I agree with you that good news is important. Unfortunately, in the commercialization of news, the if-it-bleeds-it-ledes mentality has really given us a distorted view of our own lives.

(4) The barn near downtown pretty much sumerizes what a lot of people outside of Ohio think about our state.
x...1- yeah, the thing is, that there IS good news out there, it's just not always the headline-grabbing, you have to actually LOOK for it, and i think that's not only the media's fault, but the public's too...after all, they're giving us what we want. well, the majority of the public, anyway.
2- you're right, lasagna's always good!
3-lol...creg's list...i saw him in kroger's once about 15 yrs ago, i had on my steelers jacket, he was behind me & said "that's a shitty jacket!" he was joking...every guy i've ever been with has that little bit of smartass in them...
