thoughts...usually with attitude...

Gravatar That is a wonderful house. Just the kind of house for serving tea and cookies.

Gravatar gary-i think it looks perfect for that too! and i see myself spending hours a day in one of the turrets as my writing space...(myspace?)

Gravatar (1) We had those stores in Columbus. Some of the best ice cream I can remember.

(2) I have severe reservations about Freud's Oedipus theory. There could be some truth in it in that at a primary level all relationships are sexual, even though on an unconscious level. Freud would insist that the Electra complex is equal in strength. If a child spent a lot of time with one parent, however, it could deepen their bond and any unconscious sexual desire, suppose. And since women tend to stay in the house more than men, it might make sense that boys might have a greater opportunity to experience parental attention.

Problem is that to accept that as true, one must also accept Freud's notional of Oedipal desire in the first place. As I said, I have grave reservations about his thesis.

Gravatar naahhh, x, i just was told that freud had morphine & cocaine probs, and severe mom issues, which is why he invented those 'diseases', so he felt 'notmal'

Gravatar I LOVE that house!

Freud was an idiot.

Gravatar oh, summer, i love it too! the woman who lived there with her husband & 4 sons just sold it last year...after they lived there for 63 years!!

Gravatar That must have broken her heart.

Gravatar summer-it did! i saw her at church awhile later, and she cried telling me about it....
