This is the first time I have heard of someone being allergic to horses. I am sure I can come up with a pun about that.

ric, bro & his wife are going through the basement at mom & dad's house so we can try to sell it this year, and i know they're all big on keeping pix, family heirlooms, etc, so i know it'll turn up! & when it does, it'll be here!! along with all the pix from our london vacations!

We used to go camping in the Smokey Mountains, too.
I remember they had a train ride where you were attacked by dozens of horse-riding "Indians," hooting and shooting their guns in the air. That's pretty impressive stuff to a four-year-old!

Ok, Libby, I am going to save you. I am also allergic to horses. I keep trying to get near them and can't breathe. My hubby and I went for a horse drawn carriage ride and by the time it was over I thought I was going to end up in the ER. Incredibly beautiful animals but I'll stick with pictures from now on.

Those are neat lib. Those rooms are huge compared with how they build houses these days.

I'm so glad I wasn't allergic to horses. Owned them for years, even rode in lots of horse shows, have tons of ribbons and tropheys.
Love all the pictures!!!

thomaslb--that would be SO impressive to kids!! i wish it was still 'back in the day', when people could afford to put on things like that! i love the smokies!
cathy--yeah, my allergy didnt mess with anything, just gave me the worst runny nose/sneezing in the world!luckily, Mom gave me benadryl & that fixed it...but i have one friend w/ms that does equine therapy for balance..no thank you!
christine--yeah...this house was built in like 1898!!
burfica--yeah, i look at these pix & wonder why i hated my house growing up...what an ungrateful brat i was...

well, to be sure, looking out onto the backyard (alley) is so very mid-west!
I haven't lived in a neighborhood for a long time (country boy, now, I reckon) and that scene made me homesick!
About the weather....sorry.
I went out this morning to clean the porch, it was gray, cold....I swept it all away and now we have Sunshine!
Tell ya what.
I'll ship some of it over there to you.
It's so nice to see BRIGHT coming in the windows....I'm sure it'll make your day!

boney, oh, when i was little, it was a beautiful backyard! it was all soft grass, and rosebushes around the edges (a gardener came over & trimmed them & sprayed them a lot)!
