We live in a trailer, over half this town is trailers, and i grew up in one. It's bigger than alot of houses, and less than 1/4 of the price.
I was in 4-H for years, and I even taught for a while after I got to old to do it. I would love for Kiddo to be in it. But they only have chicken, beef and sheep going right now.
When I was in it, I was in Horse, cat, dog, cooking, clowning, cake decorating, And a few others. Some of the best time's I've had.
We try to go up to the mountain for hiking, pinon picking, looking at deer, picnicing, always smores whenever we go. We try to go a few times a year, and we go out shooting and playing on the 4 wheeler alot. I think kids who don't have all the electronic devices are more well rounded and happier.
Just my opinion. My son is gonna know how to clean and cook, and shoot, and care, and all other good stuff.
Some people think I'm a bad mom cuz he's in middle school and I haven't gotten him a cell phone. His 7 year old cousin has one and knows how to use it better than I do.

burfica, no, i love it when you ramble! you just helped prove my point, didnt you? there's so many different ways to live your life! and, yes, kids need to get off their asses and run around outside playing & using that old-fashioned thing called imagination!~!

I'm glad to know you're going to the doctor's. I've been thinking about your sleep, probably because I suffer from insomnia. But I'd rather be awake all the time than asleep all the time.
The retired gentleman in your last post seems to be just what you needed. Bless him and his wife.
I'm wondering: if you had a car with modified controls, could you still drive? Or is that out of the question?

x- oh, i really wish! but the problem i have with driving is my eyesight and the fact that when i turn my head side-to-side to make sure there's nobody coming, i get dizzy! i don't have a physical problem...believe me, last time when i did get my dl, in 1996, i actually flunked the eye test, where you have to name the number on a diff color backgrd...i guessed the first time, and the girl said, no, try again..next time she sd no, its a number between 5 & 7...does that make YOU feel safe, knowing there's people like that driving??

Hahah -- can I just say that the hand picture totally freaked me out! That was very cool though!
I do hope that you're okay with the sleeping and with the being cold. Would hate to see you ill!
And I agree -- technology is supposed to make life better and bring people together. But it seems to be consuming too much of us and actually drives us away further from each other!

oh, pb, you get it! it's a freaking double edged sword, isn't it?? on the one hand, i've met so many people around the world that i never could have without a computer...but...if a person let it, it would consume your real life!

Our kids never had cell phones or stuff like that- they played outside like we used to and used their imaginations like we had to to have fun. So far, they've all grown up to be pretty well adjusted and responsible adults. I hope they teach their kids the same. I suspect they will.
I'm glad you've made an appointment with your Dr.

O.
That chopped fingers one is disturbing isn't it?
When I was a kid I found out I could totally un-nerve my Mom by sticking out my tongue and pretending to drag a sharp knife across it... even though you'd be no where near your tongue - several inches away from it with the blade - she'd go ape-crazy, & pitch a minor hissy fit.
We kids had our special ways of torturing the poor woman.
I so get your point about choices and how one by one, over time, they define our lives...
Hope you get a good report at the Doctor's office and you're back on a good energy track soon!

A great post Libby, something I have pondered for a long time.....the more we get the more we seem to want and think we need. So about seven years ago, I wanted to take my kids back to a simpler way of life, that is why I bought my house in Louisiana, five acres, get some animals, grow a garden. I had once canned my own food, sewed everything, wanted to get back to that way of life again. But I guess you can't take city kids and make them country kids, they have to be brought up from birth that way. So it didn't work. Ana about drove me nuts pining for what she didn't have.......so I finally gave in. But I still envy people like your Boo....who makes it work.
I wonder right along with you, (why ARE families are more 'split apart' and doing different things with 'other people', not their families) What is up with people leaving their own family to venture out for a week at a time and strike up relationships with strangers. I personally think it is very dangerous to allow people you do not know to have that much connection with your real life. It is pretty hard to undue the damage that a bad relationship can bring into a family.
I am talking about this new trend of meeting people you have only met in blogland.......very scarey to my way of thinking. Oh there are a few I would trust......I think, haha
