Yesterday we took the little sunday school children through the 1st verse of the Star Spangled Banner... getting them to visualize it and also understand the meaning in the words... so, when we got to the part where it says, "...what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming..."
I checked for understanding by asking them, "what's that mean? Does it mean that they waited until sunset and then tossed a bunch of hard little snow balls at it?"
I know, I'm bad in church sometimes. A couple of the adults snickered but the kids were great - they straightened me right out! Bless their Hearts!
