All us gun owners, are very worried about this administration.
We used to take one week in the summer and go to phoenix to visit my mom's brother. We would go school clothes shopping, but she always threw in going to the zoo and a couple movies.

I think, from a material standpoint, America peaked twenty years ago. Washington should just admit that, and stop throwing good money after bad.
Somehow we got it in our heads that each generation was going to have more stuff than the one before it, and that has proved not to be the case. Future generations will be riding the bus and living in smaller homes.
Ultimately, though, there is no link between product consumption and happiness. Everything is going to be OK.
Moving along… We always took our vacations in a quaint little backwater villa called "Marion, Ohio." That's where most of our relatives lived , and we looked forward to it for months. It's kind of cool that as you were shipping out, we were shipping in. I wonder if we ever crossed each other?

Vacations provided the best childhood memories. They're educational too. I've met people who have never left New Jersey in their lives (not even to go to New York). At the same time, they'll try to tell you that you don't know how the world really works.
Go figure.
As for the rest of your post, I'll simply add it to the collection.

thomaslb--i agree totally with you on the 'too much stuff'! i read a book a few years ago 'too much is not enough'...i think that was what it was called...& it was also talking about how people in america always are wanting MORE! thinking back 20 yrs ago...i had nothing but a job, a baby,an apartment, & a car...but they were the happiest years of my life! i didnt have credit cards, if i couldnt afford it, i didnt buy it!!
& yeah, we're still, so far, a quiant, little backwater vills!! someday, i hope you come back to visit! & if you ever do, look me up!!
x--i looked forward to vacation every year! mom & dad always had somewhere cool for us to go!

Cute so cute. I love kitties but my doggie doesn't. You made some good points about the economy and those in charge of our money. It's very scary!

I don't think Bush was at fault, it started way before that. Way back when Carter and Clinton made the rules that forced affordable housing down the bank's throats. That's when they started loaning money to people that didn't have any. To people that couldn't really afford to pay the mortgages in the long run.
Ever hear of "interest only" loans with a balloon payment after X# of years? Where did they expect these people to get the money to make the balloon payments if they could save enough money for a down payment?
What about 100% financing, no down payment? WTF? Again, how can they loan money to people that can't even save enough money for a down payment?
I watched one of the house hunter shows last week. The couple was looking to buy a house, but couldn't qualify for the loan until she was off probation at her new job. The bank wanted to make sure her income was going to be there. Sounds good, except she was going to get pregnant, or was she pregnant? and quit her job in when the baby was born. How the "F" were they going to pay the frigging mortgage then?
IMHO, that's how we got in this mess.
