Gosh I cant imagine the mental anguish one must go through living through cancer once then getting it a second time. My mom had limited lung function with her cancer too... at the end though she kept pulling out the o2.... I would get upset but it turns out she did just fine without it.
Good luck with your Mom! Its tough to see people you love so ill!
kate, it is! talked to bro today, he said that she pulled the tube out last night, but now she's doing fine without it!

I think a should only last a 1/2 hour at most. The little kids must have been driving their parents crazy after a while.
It's not your fault your mom is ill. Her diet is partially to blame and if she smoked, then that explains the lung problem. So get those thought of it being your fault out of your mind right now young lady! Don't make me come over there!
tony-thanks! she ate healthy, but she'd smoked for about 40 years...and, no, the little kids weren't driving their parents nuts...they were driving the REST of us nuts!!
Your Mom sounds like one tough and amazing lady! Sounds like she's coming along, too! Just last Monday we were bemoaning the fact that our little town's Labor Day Parade was awfully short this year- didn't even last an hour! We were disappointed.
I hope Mom gets better soon Lib.

Libby: The first part of the post was funny! I don't know how long parades are supposed to be, but those pick-ups with nothing on 'em is hilarious.
The second part is kind of sad. Your mom had 6-7 angios? That's a lot right there.

that is a long parade, i personally really don't like parades, they always seem to be long to me, and I am always wishing they would hurry up, seems the floats go by way to slowly for me.
Hope they can get your Mom off the tube soon, they sure are no fun. But they have to keep you so sedated because you wouldn't be able to stand the tube down your throat otherwise, the gag mechanism would keep you gagging all the time.
That was one dam long parade. We live in a small town. All of 5 stoplights, but main street for parades only has 3 of those lights.
Our parades seem to start a half hour late, but only last about 15 or 20 minutes.
Can you believe that last year they were so horrible here, they didn't even do a christmas parade. What kind of town doesn't do a christmas parade???
They had to have a tube in my mom when she first went downhill. They had to go through her nose though, because her throat kept closing. They told us they have to take them out within 5 to 7 days.
I think kids keep you young, and your parents give you grey hair. hehehehe
Iffin yer watchin them parades can last a lifetime. when yer in them they be over way to quickly. Kinda like the happy birthday song. Me bets that wiatin fer the princess to show only made the smile on yer face all that much bigger when she finally appeared.

(1) I wasn't aware that your mom had suffered from lung cancer 15 years ago (not to mention the other stuff). That must have been a terrible deja vu.
But if she can make a choice, she must be doing well.
(2) I'll bet you weren't the hellraiser you thought you were....until you got older.
(3) Speaking of hellraising, did you know that the parade mermaids in New York flash?
