thoughts...usually with attitude...

Gravatar Errrrrr....

so errrrrrrr..how's the weather?

Gravatar America elected a Motivational Speaker as their president.

He might make people feel better about themselves, but change isn't going to come from the ballot box. Revolution is the only way to really change anything.

Gravatar chris--today the weather is sunny & dry! finally!! it's chilly (high 30's, but it's february...)...but did i mention, it's sunny!!

thomaslb--i think the 'motivational speaker' is exactly what we got..."be careful what you wish for..."...lots of truth in tht saying, isn't there?

Gravatar Yeah Germany electivated a very charming, good speach giving, motivational speaker, and many concentration camps, and bombings later, we finally got the bastard.

Gravatar that's supposed to be elected not electivated. good god!!!

Gravatar It will be so interesting to see how history records all of this.

I am hopeful. Full of hope.

Have a great weekend and VD!

Gravatar On the warpath already?

Gravatar burfica--i'm hearing you!

helene--man, i'm stil hoping, but i wish he'd at least not ignore his campaign promises in the first 3 weeks...but, remember, everybody, this is politics, not something you dislike friends for if they don't agree with you!!

x--i'm just pointing out my observatiions...nobody has to agree with me, you know...i didn't like bush much in his second term, either...i guess i'm just an "equal opportunity hater"!

Gravatar Libby, you've got these folks down cold!

Actually, I'm past joking about it, since we've just started, and this porkulus monstrosity is just the beginning.

Keep up the great work!

Gravatar You mean MAYBE the CURRENT president knows stuff the REST of us DONT KNOW and BIG SUPRISE he really CANT keep all his campaign promises? Wow who knew (oh wait only EVERYONE in the military, but who am I to say??)

Gravatar donald--thanks! i appreciate that.

nuttymom--hahaha...yeah, i know nobody keeps their promises (i know that ALL too well!)

Gravatar I think we should impeach Obama. Three weeks is more than enough time to fix all the things Bush and his boys screwed up.

Gravatar Interesting times...dammit.

How are you, libby?

Had enough snow yet? HA!

Gravatar I agree with whoever it was that said revolution is the only way out!!

Gravatar well, it's not the answer you're looking for, but, actually, thank god it isn't a case of the president thinking up some hair-brained scheme and bringing it to fruition. Else we would be head into World War Three now.
There are checks and balances through-out the government, and while, to us, it seems slow and moleasses-like, the thing is, it does move along.
'Course, the last man in was one to stop change...the idiocy of that concept still confuses me...but he's gone, now.
And "Change" was the very first thing the guy in office did.
Now there are no more closed door sessions that concern us going down.
Hopefully he sticks with that idea.

One month in and nobody has shot him is a GREAT mark considering the terrible injustice this country has wrecked over all minorities, including, I might add, the handicapped.

Bush junior sustained the concept of not making public buildings handicapped accessible. He thought to leave it to each State to make that decision, and a couple were taking it to task. Tennessee, for one.

It would appear that he's going after the most pressing matter first (3 million out of work in the last year plus) and working steadily towards one of the biggest mistakes we ever made, Iraq. Guantanamo is almost a speck in the rear-view mirror, (what in the name of heaven are we doing in CUBA, anyway, for crying out loud!) and there's also the matter of the guy that put the Towers down to the ground, that weasel bin laden, who has been living the high life thanx to Bush junior and friends. Not so very seperate from that is the fact that George Junior gave Pakistan several F-16 jets, training on using/maintainning them, and now they have a viable delivery system for nuclear warheads (which we KNOW they have and have tested) which they didn't have previously. (Yes, Bush junmior actually GAVE the only radical Islamic nation in the world JETS)(You know, that would actually seem devious except for the fact that our own Ronnie Reagan supplied, trained, and paid bin laden back in the early 80's)

So, while things are desperate here, the best thing would probably be, do some work.
(simplistic, but, accurate)
If you have viable ideas, put it on paper and ship it up the hill.
You and I may never live to see our ideas come to being, but, we can set the wheel into the right course.

I know I'm gonna try.
How about you?

Gravatar boney--gotta ask you...in your opinion, has a democratic pres ever done anything wrong? or a repub pres ever done anything right? cuz i'm all for giving the other side a chance...but when there's important stuff rushed through before anybody can read it, i'm suspicious...that's called being a good american.

cindy--i'm definitely agreeing with you!

jimmyb--hey, i'm good...and yes, i am SO done with snow now

tony--i'm not wanting to impeach him, just for him to do the job we hired him to do, openly & honestly!!

Gravatar Oh yeah, gal.
Clinton didn't resign. Worse thing I had seen since Nixon resigning, actually. At least he had the good sense to do so.
Eisenhaur warned us about the military/industrial complex, and for that warning, gave us a peek into our own future, not an easy thing to do.
Didn't matter much, though, did it? Dang!
Teddy Roosevelt, the reason I am a Republican, was a great leader in that he served us well. Threw the big business supporters that got him elected right out on their butts, he did! HA!
Only had one other Liberal Republican in after that, Rockefeller, but, he was only going to be a Vice President to Ford (middle of the road kind of guy. Would have been a great cohesive president, pulling us all back together after Viet Nam had he NOT given amnesty to Nixon. Still pretty sure that's why he didn't fly.
Too bad.)
And, I'm with ya on the speed of the thing.
I would rather they offer up a big ol' piece of money to NEW ideas.
I have a flock of them!
An exra lane on the nation's highways....if they're so up about alternative powered vehicles, how about giving them access to the highways!
Legalize pot, for crying out loud. SAVE some 9-12 billion dollars a year trying to get little johnny from growing and smoking pot! HA! Then TAX it! Those folks would love to pay fifty dollars every three months to smoke pot! And, since there are some 95 million adults partaking pot every month, that would be near two billion dollars INCOME for the government.
Not to mention the new industries of hemp products....canvas, clothing, rope, string, ....
empty about one third of the prisons in America for all the people they have in for smoking pot.
How about not give ANY money to ANY of the car maufacturers? I like Ford's idea. Lend the money! Expect PAYBACK! Dang!

I'm sorry...
I just get so mad at the government somwetimes...

What they need more than anything else, though, and this is straight across the board....
TERM LIMITS!
Dang it, the more people that are in government at some point or other, the closer it will be to actually representing US.
Professional Politicians only represent themselves. Nobody else. They have even made it OK to lie to us, which is dispicable (if I spelled that right)
and, whether or not I did, I should go away.
I mean, not forever...just, stop going off, y'know?

Gravatar oh, floop on me.
I don't mean to be so long winded, and it woukld servre me right if you didn't read it.

I'm more to trying to find the positive, and boy. Nothing takes the positive out of a guy so much as politickin!
HA!

So, did you have a decent Valentine's?
Got kind'a cold around here (Indiana) but, I just chopped a bit more wood faster than it could get too cold.

Rather it was Spring, though. Get back to painting more....

Gravatar boney, i like to read your ideas! and i agree with you on the legalize pot idea! tax it, get some of the $$ the gov't wants back from that! and yeah, i bet you are ready to paint again, arent you??

Gravatar yes'm.

This year more'n most, I got cold all the way to the bones. Hard to paint when you're shivvering, eh?
