But don't you think that without the overthrow of Saddam and the occupation, you would not be on the path to self determination at all???
Consider the other paths that could have been - or could yet be:
1. Saddam
2. Extremist Coup
3. Civil War
Its fine to complain - you ARE FREE!!!! But do please consider what the alternatives might be.

It should NEVER have come to this. And if the Iraqi people's freedom was really so much of a concern of Bush and the neocon lunatic cult, then there would have been measures in place to insure events like Abu Ghraib didn't happen (and continue to happen)...and there would have been an actual plan for the aftermath. Instead there is no security, poor essential services, and elections were held a year too late. Frankly, we have a war that is not going to end any time soon and an election that was held in a state of emergency. Read more of my blog if you want a complete rebuttal to your sort of thinking. I was and still am completely against this illegal war.
But we are where we are now...it doesn't mean it's right.
I want to move forward. And forward for Iraq does not include permanant US bases. It is only going to cause more death and pain for all parties involved.

and sure peace is the best. but we need pace & peace...we need good things to happen for iraq quickly.

SO, it's very complicated....I'm not for it or against it. BUT I have the luxury of taking this abstract position. Some disaffected youths that have nothing and nothing to look forward for the future in Iraq DO NOT have such a luxury. I ONLY CARE IF MY FAMILY IS SAFE AND ALIVE. We're already being f'ed with more and more simply because we're in the christian minority, so...YEA, I'm pissed off at the whole situation. IT REally sucks for us. And I'm sick of it.

There are 10 Americans opposed to the U.S. presence for every Iraqi who feels the same way. A HUGE waste of lives and resources for a people we have NOTHING in common with. Is freedom for Iraqi's worth a SINGLE American life? Of course not.
Iraqi's will always hate Americans. Their religion commands it. But now,by becoming free and prosperous,Iraqi's will be even more empowered to MURDER the infidel. Thank-you George Bush.

The American Tank in the Video is in fact a soviet made MTLB. Didnt know they were supplying the Americans....Its the sort of equipment used by Iraq and other middle eastern countries.
