Gravatar You need to post more often!

Gravatar Hey Lim, welcome back! I was worried about you. But what's this about General Petraeus, savior of all things good and true? You don't think he's doing a bang-up job of bringing peace and stability to all of Iraq, nay, all of the known world? (Maybe "bang-up" wasn't the best term to use.) The one who worries me more is Odierno, after what I read about him in Tom Ricks's Fiasco. But I would like to hear more particulars on why you think Petraeus is a disaster, and whether you believe the best course for Iraq is for the U.S. to begin a gradual but steady withdrawal right now. I wonder whether the recent reductions in violence are a temporary lull while the various factions bide their time, just waiting for drawdowns of U.S. troops to start up again in full force.
Anyway, stay safe!

Jon

Gravatar Oops! Gotta learn to click on links before I comment. (My computer's internal modem connection is loose and kicks me off regularly, so I tend not to make too many excursions away from the site I'm on.)
But, oooh, you meant the poor, misunderstood Mr. Chalabi! But what damage has that kindly, abused paragon of virtue and all things bright and beautiful done? #@$%#!! Was your title a reference to the movie with that cute little girl who disappeared into the television, or to Night of the Living Dead sequel #XIII?

Gravatar I really enjoy reading your blog, it always has great insight. But I am very frustrated with the media’s lack of questions to the presidential candidates about global warming. Now that it is down to just a few candidates I would think that this would be an issue.

Live Earth just picked up this topic and put out an article ( http://www.liveearth.org/news.php ) live earth is also asking why the presidential candidates are not being solicited for their stance on the issue of the climate change. I just saw a poll on www.EarthLab.com that says people care a lot about what their next leader thinks of global warming. Does anyone know of another poll or other results about this subject?

Here is the page where I saw the EarthLab poll: http://www.earthlab.com/life.aspx. This is a pretty legit website; they are endorsed by Al Gore and the alliance for climate protection and they have a carbon footprint calculator. Does anyone have a strong opinion about this like I do? No matter what your political affiliation is or who you vote for this is an important issue for our environment, our economy and for homeland security.

Gravatar Nice Site!

Gravatar Hey thanks for the great blog, I love this stuff. I've been paying a lot of attention to politics lately and it made me realize that Earth day is coming up. I don’t usually do much for Earth Day but with everyone going green these days, I thought I’d try to do my part.

I am trying to find easy, simple things I can do to help stop global warming (I don’t plan on buying a hybrid). Has anyone seen that EarthLab.com is promoting their Earth Day (month) challenge, with the goal to get 1 million people to take their carbon footprint test in April?... I took the test, it was easy and only took me about 2 minutes and I am planning on lowering my score with some of their tips.

I am looking for more easy fun stuff to do. If you know of any other sites worth my time let me know.
