Rohrabacher is an embarrassment to California.
Yeah, I can't say that I've ever had much respect for Congressman Rohrabacher, or his old pal, former Congressman William Dannemeyer.

The "commentator" of this Maher conversation needs a serious history lesson. The comparsion between the Dutch and the Mexicans IS lop-sided: the Dutch owned New York for 51 years; the Mexican government owned the northern territory in the United States (at least for now, until you apologists get your way)for 27 years; and Mexico owned California for 25 years.1821 was the year of Mexican independence and the northern territories you are so eager to hand back to its "rightful owners" were inhabited by not Mexicans or Spaniards but by native American tribes. But you folks are absolutely right, by all means, please give the Mexican illegals carte blanche: citizenship, dual languages,cheap labor for agri-business, meat-packing and scab construction.
Mexico needs sealed borders. That country would explode and finally get the revolution and true reforms it needs. That country has everything to succeed and only the United States and Iberian traditions to thank for keeping it a fourth rate nation. Its good people deserve better and should not be forced to immigrate. The Mexican government uses the U.S. as a pressure relief valve to keep hold of its corrupt ways.
But forget all that; let's do it your way and do away with American traditions that did, admittedly, bring some evils into the twentieth century, but for the most part made the United States the greatest nation and greatest force for good in human history; not perfect, but better than anything ever seen before! But please, destroy it! We are, after all, the most evil group of people to ever exist on this earth. Thanks Bill Maher and your informed supporters. Assholes!
