Californians who read their tax return pamphlets earlier this year saw this term "RDP". Well, if you are a "registered domestic partner" and receive all the benefits that married taxpayers do, then why is it so important that same-sex partners must have the legal right to get married? I view this as an attempt to trample the rights of religious people to retain the sanctity of marriage. I'm neither religious nor do I care if the same-sex partners do or don't have the legal right to get married, but I believe that government should protect the rights of the others, too, and this should be brought to the attention of all citizens.
