First of all, McCain has never claimed Panamanian citizenship. Secondly, the United States is actually somewhat unusual in the world in automatically conferring citizenship upon anyone born on our soil. In most countries, you are only a natural-born citizen if at least one (or in some cases both) of your parents are citizens.

Man, if McCain was a democrat, this would be all over Fox News and talk radio....There'd be allegations of connections to Noriega, Hugo Chavez, the Medellin cartel, and the Tupac Amuru (never mind that three of the four have nothing to do with Panama--South America's close enough....)
