If we want to know how Barack really thinks, we just need to listen to Michelle speak. There is no way they have been married as long as they have without sharing the same views, which goes along with their attendance at a racist church for 20 years. Thanks for posting up this thesis. I have to agree with the second commenter in the discussion piece. Considering this is a thesis paper, she obviously had not mastered the power of the pen at that time. I'd sure hate to see any legal briefs she may have composed since then!
Obviously, I am going to have to take a look at that thesis. So I will reserve any comment on it until I've finished it. However, I will say that it will be interesting to see exactly how race plays in this election cycle. I have long concluded that there really has been no discussion on race. Most people simply put forth diatribes and sit back. There is no engagement, and the presumptions come so easily. All of us are guilty of doing it to some degree.
In terms of the black church and the aforementioned comment, I think that one had better be prepared to call the overwhelming majority of black churches racist. With the exception of the bizarre conspiracy theories, one will find an institution that has challenged the proscribed image of America since its inception with Richard Allen and the A.M.E. movement in the early 19th century.
Just a couple of thoughts.

Great article on Obama's goofy wife. I never agreed much with my wife, so I can't read too much into this, but between her and his crackpot minister, a person does have to wonder what's milling around in Barrack's head. It still will be difficult to support Bush III.

Hitchens is rarely off the mark. Maybe folks should tone down the Obamamania and take an objective look at some of these things.
Stop guzzling the koolaid folks. It has been 10+ years since ANY candidate from EITHER major party was worth a darn.

I have 3 things to say:
1) not everyone can write well and writing ability is not an indication of a deficiency in their intelligence or an indication of their prejudices.
2) I have never heard of an undergraduate thesis, so the fact that she complete one is amazing.
3) At least she did not use Wikipedia for her thesis as McCain did for his speech.
I spent 13 years advising Masters' students working on theses in the field of Communication. Most of these were quantitative and utilized a survey methodology, like Ms. Obama's. I went to your Scribd site and read a good portion of her thesis and found it no better than most MA theses I had read--but certainly, no worse.
You know, there are occasions when one reads something and finds it difficult to believe. I can not imagine any college student, particularly a Princeton student, submitting a paper without proofing it for grammatical and other errors. Michelle Obama strikes me as a reasonably responsible person. I'm not passing judgment one way or the other about the existence of the poor grammar in the paper. It just distresses me that it is even an issue, for ANY student, not just Michelle Obama.
