Gravatar I still love how defeat is clearly what will "happen" if we pull out of Iraq. Yet, no one has bothered to tell us what "victory" will look like. We will remain on the road to victory until Kingdom Come, if we follow the POTUS, and his band of salacious crumbs.

Gravatar J-Free, Thanks for stoppin' by the shop dude!

I agree with Hitchen's in theory. Ever the pragmatist though, I believe blindly following one course of action or the other without leaving room for course correction is pure partisan nonsense.

Yet that's where both parties have now positioned themselves.

McCainiacs appear committed to staying in Iraq no matter what, and Hillary and Barrack have both explicitly committed to a 16 month, no matter what, withdrawal(Last ABC Debate).

I can only hope that when the dust settles, reason prevails. Victory in Iraq is attainable and could be defined as having a self-sufficient and stable Iraqi government that is sufficiently able to defend itself against threats both internal and external.

Pulling out should be a last resort, but if chaos returns with a vengeance and our fine young men and women are serving as little more than targets, then serious thought should be given to a tactical withdrawal.

As you know I have family freshly returned from serving in the region, and I can tell you those guys and gals are tired and stretched to the breaking point. Eventually somethings gotta give, one way or the other.
