Barack Obama on his Religion
"I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn't 'fall out in church' as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn't want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.
There is one thing that I want to mention that I think is important. Part of what we've been seeing during the course this campaign is some scurrilous e-mails that have been sent out, denying my faith, talking about me being a Muslim, suggesting that I got sworn in the U.S. Senate with a Quran in my hand or that I don't pledge allegiance to the flag. I think it's really important for your readers to know that I have been a member of the same church for almost 20 years, and I have never practiced Islam. I am respectful of the religion, but it's not my own. One of the things that's very important in this day and age is that we don't use religion as a political tool and certainly that we don't lie about religion as a way to score political points. I just thought it was important to get that in there to dispel rumors that have been over the Internet. We've done so repeatedly, but obviously it's a political tactic of somebody to try to provide this misinformation." Barack Obama

Thanks for copying and pasting. My post contains a link to Obama's website about his religion. I even quoted some of it.
Perhaps you missed in my post where his campaign said he was not a practicing Muslim,(they didn't say he was Christian or he's not a Muslim) or maybe you missed the part where his brother and sister said he's Muslim.
Or perhaps you didn't read the snip from the last source...A NY Times interview with Obama.
This really has less to do with his religion than his ability to tell some resemblance of the truth. Of course, his blind followers, like yourself, will take his every word as gospel, or sura despite the evidence.

"if they can make you think a belief is a fact, they have you where they want you." Vernon Howard
You would do well to investigate the power of globbyists over John McCain with the same paranoid zeal. You are being used to disseminate deliberate falsehoods and you swallow like a fish to a lure. Wake up to reality, they are playing you for a fool who believes rumor over proven fact. Seriously!

I have no idea what a globbyist is, but if you happen to mean lobbyist, get real. Lobbyists are a part of politics. Unions are lobbyists, AARP are lobbyists, there's environmental lobbyists, there's pro murder of babies lobbyists. For anything that means anything to anyone, there is a lobbyist. So stop living in the closet.
I cited quotes from his family, quotes from himself, quotes from his book, quotes from his campaign, I didn't make it up, and some is from the NY Times, which, by the way, is Obamas #1 fan and buttboy.
So seriously, he and his campaign are lying one way or the other. I provided the sources, read them.
I will again repeat the last sentence from my previous response.
Of course, his blind followers, like yourself, will take his every word as gospel, or sura despite the evidence.

I am fully aware of why I support Barack Obama and why. He is not funded by lobbyists, even if you think it's the way of the world forever. He is against the Iraq war. My son joined the Marines to fight the people who blew up the towers, not to fight in an immoral war to profit the oil companies because we were lied to about the WMD's. As for economics, look who is making money and who is hurt? Obama is not a candidate that peddles influence or that cares only for the wealthy and the accumulation of money for them above all else.

Thank your son for his service, I have family members and friends who have been to both Afghanistan & Iraq.
You have confirmed my suspicions, you're a nut job. Islamic terrorists struck the towers. Saddam funded terrorists. WMD's were found in Iraq up to and as recently as this past week. You won't hear about it on CNN though. I wrote a post about terrorism during the Clinton Admin, take a look.
The Clinton Legacy Part I you will find quotes from President Clinton down to Congresspeople declaring Iraq had a WMD program and needed to be stopped.
American Oil companies were not even among the first companies to get oil contracts (if they have yet, I don't know) Iraq is pumping more oil now than while Saddam was in power. Saddam was restricted to how much he could pump and what could be purchased with that money. (Oil for food debacle)
As for the oil companies, you haven't a clue about global economics, supply & demand, and normal business practices. Record profits are not because of gouging, but because of something as simple as "gross profit %" every business in the world uses it .
I know you want to believe otherwise, but there are lobbyists who have been whispering in your messiahs ear this whole campaign. You don't get elected without their endorsements.
Obama looks down to voters just as any other elitist. Remember this quote? “bitter” small-town Americans “cling to guns or religion”.
