The sad thing is the science was already pretty strong when his daddy was presidentk, but his first Chief of Staff, former NH gov. John Sununu (father of the present NH senator of the same name), was an MIT engineering grad. and convinced he knew enough to poo-poo the published data at that point.

A perfect case of a skeptic who had no business being so.

For me, the ironic thing about all this is I remember reading about "the greenhouse effect" when I was in 6th or 7th grade (around 1971 or '72). Here we are 35 years later still debating this with ignorant recalcitrants......

I read Amory Lovins' Soft Energy Paths right after Three Mile Island, while i was in college (yes, I'm THAT old), the event that politicized me once and for all. And he was preaching about this back then...
