At home, we segregate plastics, paper, tin/aluminium and glass. We send them to a local recycling centre every week. It's quite cumbersome but I feel glad that we help reduce what goes into the landfill.
(Your shoes look absolutely lovely BTW.)

I want those shoes!!
I recycle just about everything that can be recycled. My dad brought me up to reuse carrier bags etc, but here in Germany I do it even more because you truly have to.
Also, I am like the light police. I see a light on and nobody in the room and feel compelled to turn it off.

what darling flats! and 4 euros sounds like a bargain for it!
i am the recycling enthusiast in the family. i even salvage plastic water bottles in the garbage can (ours! not in public :P) so they can be placed in the proper recycling can.
and when i want something, i try to see if i can get a used one for cheaper on ebay first. such as lomo cameras. hehe.
i reuse scrap paper before finally throwing them in the trash! and i save vegetable scraps to fertilize our garden.
kudos, fellow green sister! mother nature appreciates every little effort we do.

We recycle everything possible, but it's quite daunting to see how much goes to recycling on a weekly basis since the energy expenditure for the recycling procedure isn't exactly low.
So I'm trying to reduce and reuse more.
I'm guilty of buying new books from time to time though, especially new releases because I get annoyed when I'm in the middle of reading and it gets recalled by the library...grrrr. I'm hoping to get the Kindle for my b-day or xmas...good-bye paper media forever!

nice tips! i also go for buying vintage or preowned. if it's in good quality, why not diba?
i guess the best way I am going green is my goal of using "no plastic" every time i buying stores. i always bring my shopping bag. kasi naman jsut imagine the plastics used around the world diba? e san yun itatapon lahat diba!
one more thing i'm doing now is, because i wash my hands a lot nowadays, instead of using lots of tissue, i just bring a small towel to dry my hands.

Great informative post, Odette I know I should be more friendly to the environment but I'm afraid the only contribution I make is to switch off lights and unplug appliances when I don't use them. At least that's something, right? hehe :D
Lovely shoes btw and I was floored when you said that water is free in Ireland! If not for the harsh winter, I'm moving there. Now na! I tend to take a lot of showers due to this awful stifling humid tropical weather we 'enjoy' here in jolly Pinas! =)

Water is free, that's big wow! Your new pair is very pretty. This is a sensible post. A sweet reminder to all of us. Right now, I play my part by bringing my own grocery bag and by recycling the newspapers and magazines.

ask yourself if you really need it ---I think i have to make this no. 1 on my go-green list. why buy it if its only for fancy. this statement is very pragmatic.
btw, i love the shoes, esp. the violet flowers (looks yummy, i thought they were icings, hehehe ^_^ )
another btw, how do you call the yellow flower?

I love your little flats too! How adorable they are! These are great ways to help be green. I love the tips - it helps to keep being reminded of ways to help and some just make so much sense that it is silly NOT to do them.
