Nice job getting the scans of that. That is the same mailing that a member of my family received.

Isn't it interesting that the headline on her retirement story says Bachmann "retires" from State Senate, the text says she "WILL BE stepping down," the intro letter talks about her senate term in the past tense, and yet there is still a box advising constituents to "contact Michele" at her state senate office.

Which is it, Michele? Have you retired yet? Or are you still our senator? Are you just hanging around until you spend down your re-election campaign fund on your congressional campaign?

It's quite common for retiring legislators to put out end-of-session reports. Both parties do it. In the case of legislators retiring to run for higher office, it's simply another means to skirt campaign spending limits, which is clearly what Bachmann is doing.

Bachmann has already been caught red-handed charging her Senate re-election campaign for parade expenses incurred by her congressional campaign. She lied about that and blamed it on a campaign volunteer. Where was the media on that one? Busy chasing down parking ticket rumors?

$800 million per-pupil. No wonder she's had so many kids.

What does she mean? What does it work to on an actual per-pupil basis -- not the aggregate?

Then, what role does she claim she had in this? Spear carrier, or tip of the spear? without any details from Bachmann on that, I would guess spear carrier. This is just one more of her uninformative "information" pieces about herself.

Will we ever get a straight and fully detailed story from this person about what, if any, accomplishments she had over two state senate terms? In the mail, online, or by carrier pigeon?

At least she says "former" this time about her litigator status. Somewhat of an upward sloping learning curve is suggested.

Technically, she still is a State Senator until January of next year, when her replacement is sworn in, so her State Senate office is still hers until then.

I am curious about her "$800 million per-pupil funding increase". Pretty sure we don't spend $800 million per pupil. It's a small foible, but it's still terribly inaccurate on her part.

Maybe that was the fault of a volunteer too.

MN Campaign Report - Great minds think in parallel. From those last two comments it's clearly so.

The detail that is needed, How was the money allocated as to school district locations, etc.? Was it merely keeping up, or even loosing ground on the shrinking dollar? Was it merely a routine and unspectaclar expeiditure, for education, before the session ended? Was it bonding bill, or budget?

What bill number is The Bachmann touting, this time? They put numbers on them for a reason. The reason - so people and press can do fact checking. Why do you suppose Michele Bachmann never mentions a bill number?

Maybe she's running for something higher? *shudders*

Hi Kyra,

I have a cousin with the same name.

Anyway, I like Michelle Bachmann and hope she does run for something higher. She would be a much, much better candidate than someone like Hillary Clinton.

something higher? she already thinks she's God...

Now, now, don't be making fun of Christianity again. Michelle doesn't think she's God, she just has the same beliefs as our Founding Fathers. Is that so wrong?

Our Founding Fathers were amoung the greatest people in world history. The communists and Islamists won't agree with that statement, but I do.

The Founding fathers understood why the separation of church and state is an important principle. Read the constitution. They deliberately left God out of the constitution - and talked about how government derived its legitimacy from We the People.

Over at my blog, Wetterling v. Bachmann, I've posted some questions I have about that mailing and some research I did into FEC and MNCFB regulations.

Also, did anyone check out this recent article on Bachmann treasurer Keith Davis? I think the Bachmann Victory Fund may be in trouble...
