Gravatar Excellent post. Now that I read this it occurs to me that "crucify Him!" has a double meaning. It is the cry of the sinner to eliminate the face of purity among us; but it is also the cry of the sinner for the redemption that only Jesus can offer. Thank you for this work.


Gravatar I could see that, Fred, but I don't think the Jews present at the Triumphal Entry would have seen crucifixion as a work of redemption. That seems to have originated with Christianity. Of course, for a modern Christian, to say "crucify Him!" is indeed a problematic thing, as we need to be saved, but we wish it didn't have to be at such a price.
