FINALLY! #9 has been drilling into my forebrain since that last comment. Above the door there burned a scarlet lamp (at the end of a deep and wide path).

Hmm. I had to cheat. Aside from #3, the ones I thought were tryin' to fire them ol' synapses are not ones I'm familiar with.
Rats.

Well, at least five of the remaining ones were written by Shel Silverstein. I always thought they made a good combination. And Doctor Hook and the Medicine Show did a fairly tolerable rendition of #5, back when they were still talented.
It's a little embarrassing to admit that I occasionally daydream about karaoke-ing #7. After an infusion of a great deal of ethanol, naturally.

Five? Wow. I had noticed that he wrote some but I didn't see just how much. Man, he wrote some good stuff (but I still, to this day, kinda freak out that he also wrote kids books).
