It sounds every bit as great as I thought it would! I'll certainly be going one day... The reason why you're happy to have had a workshop such as this one early in your spinning career is very interesting, and I'll keep it in mind if ever I see a workshop offered that I'd fear may be too adavnced for me. The words you used to describe the workshop (the process of trying new fibers and techniques and seeing where it can lead) totally makes it sound like I'd benefit a lot from such a course.
The folk school is one of my very favorite places. I have taken two quilting workshops and one bookmaking class there and have totally enjoyed every aspect of the experience. So glad you had a great time.

Sounds fantastic! The school was always on my to-do list for that area (we have friends nearby in NC still), but once we moved to New England, I haven't been back often enough to take classes. Maybe when I retire...

I was there and I too agree that it was great! You did a super job of writing it up. A visit to JCC for spinning or any other type of brain-craft activity is recommended. I am a spinning newby, but Patsy was very patient with me. You're on my active blog reading list now, Margaret!

Thank you for this! I've taken two of Patsy's Folk School workshops (Novelty yarns in 2006 and Cotton, Silk and Flax in 2007) and had the exact same experience you did. I'd have loved to have taken the class last month but just couldn't work it out this year. But, it's so great to be able to see the samples you produced and live it through your eyes.
