okay, so, ten minutes after i posted that, the "reallly bad pop band" started singing,
"six million twenty-five thousand seventeen minutes . . ."
or whatever, and, of course, they ARE the cast of rent.
this is when i notice there is a giant billboard-sized screen behind them saying, "Broadway in Bryant Park!"
it was just a rehearsal, but christina applegate has some really bad pitch.

actually, i'm not overly fond of san francisco, either--or at least i wasn't when i lived there; i think it's nicer now--but this post was about new york. i know. i'm a big downer for america's favorite cities.
hard to say. it's a giant combo plate. if it matters, i don't *hate* it here. there are elements and days that i like it a great deal . . . it's just not where i'd want home to be.
